Charity Golf Day is far from below par!
On Thursday 19th July we held a Charity Golf Day at Upton-by-Chester golf course in aid of our chosen charity of the year, Chester Voluntary Action (CVA).
Ten teams of four business people entered: RBA Team 1, RBA Team 2, Moneytree Wealth Management, Matthews Estate Agents, Grosvenor Insurance team 1 & 2, JPM Capital, Grosvenor Cleaning Company, XL Catlin and Chester Old Boys.
On arrival at Upton Golf Club, we were lucky enough to have perfect weather conditions with clear blue skies! The teams fuelled up with bacon rolls and coffee, whilst our sales director, Andy Rolph, welcomed them and gave an explanation of the rules and format of the day. Joanne Walton from Chester Voluntary Action also gave a brief explanation of the CVA charity and why the fundraising was so important.
We played an 18 Hole Better Ball Stableford format, with prizes for the Longest Drive and a Hole in One challenge on hole 17, with £1,000 prize money!
Joanne Walton kept us in check by whizzing from team to team on a golf buggy, making sure we all played fairly!
John Mooney from the RBA 1 team left his ball 3 foot short on the Hole in One challenge on a 234 yard par 3 hole, sadly missing out on the £1,000 prize.
The overall winners of the day were Matthew of Chester estate agents. Following the golf, there was a prize presentation and speech by Andy Piggott (Managing Director), followed by a 2 course bite to eat and further drinks. Tom Lenton and his Moneytree team managed to stay until last orders!
We’d like to thank all the local businesses who supported our Golf day and are thrilled to announce that we raised far in excess of £500 for the Chester Voluntary Action Charity.
